Il musicista che non fu Mozart
Anton Eberl, compositore Viennese, si esibiva già come pianista all’età di sette o otto anni. Fu amico e allievo di Mozart ed alcune sue composizioni furono pubblicate con il nome di W. A. Mozart tanto da indurlo, dopo la morte del musicista salisburghese, a pubblicare il seguente avviso in un quotidiano tedesco: “Per quanto possa essere lusingato che anche gli intenditori siano stati tratti in inganno nel giudicare queste opere come i prodotti di W. A. Mozart, non posso in alcun modo permettere che al pubblico venga lasciata questa ingannevole menzogna.” Nel 1796 fu nominato Kapellmeister, compositore, pianista e insegnante di musica della famiglia zar. Morì a quarantuno anni, pochi mesi dopo essere tornato a Vienna da San Pietroburgo.

The musician who was not Mozart
Anton Eberl, a Viennese composer, was already performing as a pianist at the age of seven or eight. He was a friend and pupil of Mozart and some of his compositions were published under the name of WA Mozart to such an extent that, after the death of the musician from Salzburg, he published the following notice in a German newspaper: “As much as it may be flattered that even connoisseurs are have been misled into judging these works as the products of WA Mozart, I cannot in any way allow the public to be left with this deceptive lie. ” In 1796 he was appointed Kapellmeister, composer, pianist and music teacher of the Tsar family. He died at forty-one, a few months after returning to Vienna from St. Petersburg.
